Draconus History Redone

I redid many aspects of the summary and it should make a lot more sense and it actually has an ending. As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.

The world of Draconus

Draconus is the smallest planet in a fictional galaxy. It is full of vegetation and consists of many different species of creatures. During the early history of Draconus, it mainly consisted of reptilian like creatures; after many centuries they evolved to become known as dragons and there was a huge war between the Draconians and the Dragons. The war first started when the Draconians decided to rid the planet of the “atrocities” due to their hostility, and the creation of wyrm monsters. The war lasted for over 50 years, but once a Wyrm Hunter known as Ninko Kirbus came around, it seemed like the war was going to end. After his success with killing many dragons, he was known for his selflessness and efficiency. He became one of the most renown wyrm hunters of all time. Ninko slayed most of the dragons, although most of them were young and were not at the peak of their strength. In the end, he prevented a dragon epidemic by nearly making them extinct. Years after these events, he himself was slain by a mere pack of Wyrm wolves due to his vulnerable age. His death was witnessed by his own family in the little town of Dragu on the eastern continent.

Nearly a decade later, Nero, Ninko's son, took his place to slay the remaining 8 dragons on the year of 300 ABP (After Birth of Planet) (Year 49 of the Dragon War). Over the next year, Nero created a group of elite Wyrm Hunters that resulted in the total annihilation of the Dragons. During the genocide, Nero and the group discovered many dark secrets; The dragons were actually not creating the wyrm monsters themselves. A mad scientist were taking the blood of the dragons and using it to mutate organisms in to blood thirsty beings. Not only that, but they ended up encountering people who call themselves Dragoons, and they worshipped the dragons. These dragoons were mutated with dragon blood and were made in to half dragon half Draconian abominations. Nero was appalled by these inhumane practices and rid of these psychologically troubled people... Near the end of the odyssey Nero looked as if he was regretting what he has been doing... But the party members took no heed in his troubles and trudged on. In the end, Nero and the group slayed the final dragon, but it cost Nero's life... From then on, Nero was known as the savior of Draconus, and was worshipped throughout the rest of its history...

The extinction of Dragons had many consequences. It ended up slowly killing the planet, as the dragons were actually the protectors of Draconus. Since their powers were no more, the planet ended up completely stopping and was left with two distinct sides of the planet. One side full of darkness, prevalent of life. The other side full of light, barren of life. The dark side of the planet has one of the biggest cities in all of Draconus, and that was the metropolis of Dorran. It was once a spiritual city full of peace, but years after the great change it caused it to flip. The city became one of the most dangerous yet populated cities in the entire planet, and the people started to panic due to the tremendous change of the planet.

Although, this was all about to change due to the strength of one shape shifter. This thing was named Kiman and he was the last Dorag; A nearly extinct race that could shape shift to whatever his brand is. Kiman's brand was of a wolf, and he used it well to hide his true self. He lived with a family in the barren lands away from Dorran, but one day a group of gangsters came and murdered the only people he loved... With his unstable emotions and what little clues he found, he head to Dorran. His plan was to purge the city once and for all, to slay all of the gangs no matter if they caused the malfeasance. As Kiman slowly purged each gang, he learned more about himself... Every gang leader was actually a part of Kiman's entirety, each being a facade of Kiman's true identity. Every time one fell, every time they were absorbed in to Kiman's body. Kiman exponentially became stronger with each death, and obtained a new form each time. Before he killed the 3rd gang leader, Kiman finally learned the complete truth. Kiman was actually not a Dorag, but merely a scientific experiment to annihilate an unknown entity recreating the Dragoons from the old manuscripts. The experiment ended up causing him to split in to three different personalities that each consisted and based around an emotion. The three forms escaped from the laboratory and the scientists thought all their work was for nothing. Kiman did not know what to think of this, and thought that was a complete lie. He took no heed to this and he became whole. He took flight to his final destination, the laboratory where he was actually created; the final gang leader's headquarters.

As he headed there, he encountered many abnormal organisms, they had the strength and speed of himself. He was able to defeat them, but he decided to take off the mask of the human like entity. When he took it off he realized something very peculiar of them, that these people had scaly skin and had deformed heads... The final part of him was right, he was created to destroy the Dragoons... The scientists took the old manuscripts and tried to recreate a Dorag, to be able to kill these abominations... He pushed on and killed all the Dragoons that stood between him and the supposed leader. When he finally reached the roof of the laboratory, he saw something very peculiar... He saw a medium sized dragon perched upon the roof. He finally realized his true purpose, to kill the final dragon inhabiting Draconus, and finally finish what Nero meant to do hundreds of years ago. After the fierce and grueling battle, Kiman comes out victorious and saved Draconus from ultimate annihilation.

Two years exactly after Kiman's great battle, the sun was no more. The planet fell to complete darkness and the true apocalypse began. The world became globalized and the entire planet was ruled by a corrupted official. Many resistance fighters have risen but due to all of the groups being disorganized, they could not achieve anything. Thus, a man named Claudius rose up. He was an unique man since he had an aura that seemed to resemble sunlight. People believed he was the true savior of Draconus; he ultimately unified the resistance forces. As Claudius and the resistance forces were able to retaliate, he was able to break through to the governments headquarters located in Dragu. The final battle between them seemed to be coming to a close. The resistance fighters seemed to have the upper hand, and Claudius decided to finally head to the emperor... As he went in to the throne room, he noticed something very abnormal; Claudius had dragon wings sprouting from his back and started to transform in to a dragon. The emperor laughed and told him he was actually no savior, but the bringer of the end of the world. He unveiled that he was one of the descendents of the Kirbus family, and that he was going to kill him and continue to rule over the world. Claudius could not believe this... He was supposed to be sent from Nero, he was supposed to save the world, he then thought... Am I really the avatar of death? All while he was thinking this, he had visions from the gods of old whom were forgotten after the purge. The explained to him he was actually one of the guardians of the planet, and that Draconus became too corrupted to save. All of the dragons during the history of Draconus were chosen by the old gods and were given an element to with hold, and that is how the planet started to slowly die... With Claudius' new motivation and new purpose, he gained the strength to attack the emperor. During the battle many quakes were happening and the planet seemed like it was exploding... Their battle was son throughout the entire galaxy... It occurred on many planes, the ground, sky, space, and the heavens. Ultimately, Claudius was victorious, and Draconus was no more...

I need some feedback on this, i started righting a summary of my entire game series but i am having troubles choosing the outlook for the second story arc.

The games are inspired by specific games and certain media.

Over all inspired by dead or alive hanzaisha.

1st story arc
-Monster Hunter
-Final fantasy series

2nd story arc
-Persona series
-Infamous
-Wolf's Rain

3rd story arc
-Fist of the north star

can't really think of all of it... i know there's tons more... Anyways, here's the summary, ending is really flat but i can't think of anything at the moment. Writing is poorly done as well.

The world of Draconus

Story arc 2 Draft 2

Although, this was all about to change due to the strength of one shape shifter. This thing was named Kiman and he was the last Dorag; A nearly extinct race that could shape shift to whatever his brand is. Kiman's brand was of a wolf, and he used it well to hide his true self. Before he killed the gang leader, Kiman finally learned the complete truth. Kiman was actually not a Dorag, but merely a scientific experiment to see if creating such a being was possible. The experiment ended up causing him to split in to 6 different personalities that each consisted and based around an emotion. This surprised the scientists and they tried to rid of this farce, but they escaped too quickly for each one could transform in to a different form. Kiman did not know what to think of this, I truly can not be a monster created by scientists, why would some one do such a thing? Create their own unique species... Kiman in an enraged state, killed the gang leader and absorbed him... He did not know whether he should continue or not, knowing the truth about his past. He never was a Dorag after all; he was living a false life that entire time... After figuring himself out, finally set off for the final gang. He did not know what to expect as he was told that he is finally “whole”. Who and what is the final gang leader? He kept on thinking that as he beat faces in while he was heading to them. He finally made it to the top of the headquarters and he could not believe what he saw... He stood before a medium sized dragon on the roof of the Headquarters... How is this possible? Nero has slain all of the dragons centuries ago! The dragon told Kiman he actually summoned him here by killing his family. He knew that kiman would want to seek revenge... The point of this was to get Kiman to kill him, and he told Kiman the duty of the dragons, in that they were in fact guardians of Draconus. Kiman did not care, and chose to kill him anyways. After the long grueling battle Kiman was victorious...

story arc 2 draft 1

One urban legend in the Metropolis of Dorran, a man known as Kiman recreated this large city. Supposedly this man could shape shift in to many forms. These people were known as Dorag, and were supposedly living during the Great Age of Nero. Before Kiman turned Dorran around, it was full of criminal and gang activity, since it was during the beginning of the huge change. The change caused many people to believe this was the beginning of the apocalypse; it was prophesied in the old religions that the world would stop, and then ultimately the sun would implode. Throughout all of the chaos, Kiman destroyed the the 7 gangs that ruled the city and each one was lead by a fellow Dorag.

This predicament was not easy on Kiman, as he was killing his own brethren. They were the last 7 Dorags of Draconus. Kiman's actions were driven by his own chaotic emotions.... He was seeking revenge for his own family. The murderers ended up being the most notorious gang of all of Dorran, thus his vengeful quest began. He slayed each dorag, one by one, and instilled much fear among the grunts in each gang. The gang leaders were baffled to see another Dorag, as each of them thought they were the only ones on the planet. But as Kiman slayed each one, he absorbed each of their forms. As he reached the last one, he realized he was not a normal Dorag, since once he shape shifted it was actually a dragon. He was simply a Dragon disguised as a Draconian. After the gruesome battle between each other, Kiman ended up victorious and the last dragon was slain...

story arc 3 (having tons of trouble with the ending...)

2 years exactly after Kiman's great battle, the sun was no more. The planet fell to complete darkness and the true apocalypse began. The world become globalized and the entire planet was ruled by a corrupted official. As Claudius and the resistance forces were able to retaliate, he was able to break through to the Capitals headquarters. The final battle between them seemed to be coming to a close. Once Claudius faced the emperor, his real identity was unveiled. Claudius was actually the final step of the Apocalypse, he was the great dragon reborn in to a human body. Claudius then made deductions of who the emperor actually was, he was a descendent of the legendary line of Wyrm Hunters, the Kirbus family. Although the emperor kept it a secret by not using the family name.

First Impressions Volume 1 Stache Style

Posted by  | Thursday, August 19, 2010  at 3:16 PM
For the past month and a half, i have been playing many games off and on. I buy a game, play it for a bit, and then stop playing it and then i'll pick it up a few months later. Its a never ending process for me, and i wish i could stop but i just love having such a large collection of video games. The latest game i have been playing though is Resonance of Fate, which in it self is an unique game that did some interesting things to the RPG Genre. On top of that, i have been playing Dragon Quest 9, Persona 3 Portable, Vagrant Story, and Persona 4. The only bad thing is that all of these games are RPGs, which is kind of making me hate the genre currently.

Resonance of Fate Impression (13-14 hours in)

Resonance of Fate is developed by Tri-ace, the company who does the Star Ocean series and made the cult classic Valkyrie Profile. Resonance of Fate takes a turn in the RPG genre by combining turn based and real time battle system mechanics. During a battle you can decide to do a "hero action" by using up a hero bar segment and this allows you to run to a point in the arena. During this time you can shoot, and jump; You are able to knock foes up the air and then do a smack down on them by jumping and shooting them down. The battle system is really quite fun and is the highlight of the game.

The story on the other hand though, is a different story. In the 13 to 14 hours i have played this game it is nearly non-existent. You merely play as 3 different mercenaries taking missions. The environment in the game is pretty neat though; it takes place in a post apocalyptic world where man now lives on a giant machine. Other than that, all i know is that the Old man Vashyron is a perv, the teen-aged Zephyr is a typical pissed off loner who hates the world, and Leanne is a ditsy young lady.

I just hope the game will get in to the story so i have an incentive to play it other than the battle system...

Dragon Quest 9 (40 hours in)

Dragon quest 9 is a traditional turn based RPG is has not changed from the roots at all. That's what i like about the Dragon Quest games, they haven't really experimented or deterred from their formula at all. This game is very similar to Dragon Quest 8 which is probably one of my all time favorite RPGs. One unique thing about this game though is that you can play with 3 other people and it doesn't detract from the game at all. Multi-player turn based RPGs usually do not work well since the second player is usually just sitting there 2/3 of the time and is only involved in the battles. The multi player in this though allows all the players to be where they want, and only participate in battles if they encounter one when they are all together, or if one chooses to jump in and help. It works surprisingly well and makes the game much more enjoyable.

There is not much to say about the battle system, except that you are able to unlock and change classes to get new abilities and such. As you level you get skill points where you can put them in to 5 different skills, the skills vary from class to class but the weapon ones usually are shared between multiple classes. This is what makes the game so addicting, because some of the skills carry over to other classes and the stat bonuses you receive also carry over.

The story in the game is quite basic, and isn't mind blowing at all. It does its job and moves the game through, but the dialogue can be and is very goofy which makes the game quite light hearted. In dragon quest 9, you play as a Celestrian, which are guardians of man kind. Each one is given a city to protect and the main character ends up being the guardian of Angel Falls. After being a guardian for awhile you received enough "Benevolessence" to give to the guardian tree of Yggdrasil in the observatory. The tree then bears the legendary fyggs, but before they could give these to the almighty the Observatory gets attacked, the fyggs became scattered, and you lost your wings. The story sets off with the main character trying to find the legendary fruit to give to the almighty.

So far, Dragon Quest 9 is probably one of the best games on DS competing with Pokemon for me. It has tons of extras in it, it is quite addicting, and it really is a well polished game.

Persona 3 Portable (15 hours in)

Persona 3 Portable is a port of an excellent RPG to the PSP. I loved the Shin Megami Tensei series and i own every single one that has come out on the ps2, DS, and PSP. Persona 3 Portable takes place in modern day japan and you play as a junior in high school. The neat thing about this version of the game is that you get to choose your gender, which actually changes some things about the game. If you play as a female you hang out with different people, the HUD and menus are all pink and yellow, instead of blue and yellow, and the music is different. It creates a whole new experience with the game that actually makes me want to play through the game again.

The latest Persona games use an unique system for the game. You have to hang out with people to be able to create more powerful personae. Its neat because it doesn't feel like its tacked on like some certain aspects in some games. But it has a nice polished feel, and its a good way to develop the main characters more as well.

As all Shin Megami Tensei games, this one uses the element system as well. In this one it is more laid back compared to the other games (nocturne and digital devil saga, you make one mistake you pretty much just lost the battle) and it saves all the enemies weaknesses if you scan them. Persona 3 uses a traditional turn based system but the characters abilities are determined by their persona. The Main Character is the jack of all trades being able to use any persona, while the supporting characters are stuck with one. The main highlight for P3P is that you can actually command your entire party, which is a nice change because the AI is not all that great and can be very frustrating.

The story is the same as Persona 3. You join the group S.E.E.S. which tries to eliminate shadows whom are slowly destroying the world by taking people's souls essentially. Each month their have been giant shadows attacking the city and you must stop them so the citizens will not wake up to a destroyed part caused by an anomaly. The story is much deeper but i do not want to spoil it or anything, since it really is an excellent story with a few twists.

I'll get to the other 2 video games later when i play a bit more of Vagrant Story. Other than that, i am currently pleased with all the games i have been playing.
